Hello! My name is Timon Lyander and I’m a writer/director based out of the city of Chicago. Having had a passion for visual storytelling my entire life, I started making short films at the age of 10. Despite being discouraged by the lack of representation in front of and behind the camera, I ultimately decided to follow my dream and pursue a career in film and television. Since graduating from DePaul University with a BFA in Film and Television, the goal of my work has been to bring awareness and representation to underrepresented communities and experiences through stories that explore multiple facets of the human condition.
In my post grad work I have had the opportunity to produce, direct, write, edit, and shoot multiple different projects. These projects include commercials, documentary portrait pieces, and narrative shorts. With this, I have been contracted by companies to help create pitch materials for projects that are currently in development along with creating promotional materials for non-profit organizations whose causes I believe in. I hope to continue using my creative talents to positively impact the world around me - one story at a time.
That’s enough about me. I think it’s best to let my work speak for itself. Stick around a while and browse some of my writing samples/films if you haven’t already. If you would like to learn more about me, please feel free to shoot an email over to tnlyander1@gmail.com or you can fill out my contact page if that is easier. I’m always open to connecting and collaborating with other creatives, production companies, or businesses.
P.S. THANK YOU for taking a second to look into the creative world I am building. It truly means a lot.
